The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a ministry of men whose purpose is to “spread Christ’s Kingdom among men.”  Our ministry rests on four cornerstones: Prayer, Study, Service, and Fellowship. These reaffirm the pledge we took at confirmation: to follow Christ; to worship God in His Church; and to work, pray and give for the spread of His Kingdom personally everyday.
The St. Andrew’s in the Pines chapter of the Brotherhood meets for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month, at Flat Creek Country Club. For more information, simply come to a meeting or contact Bryan Price Murray Pascual.

Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. The Ruth and Naomi Chapter is the parish chapter of St. Andrew’s in the Pines. One of the primary disciplines of our chapter is to offer prayers for individuals in need at the request of parishioners.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King® is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Daughters of the King initiated a prayer shawl ministry, to create shawls for parishioners and others in need of the physical and spiritual comfort that a shawl would provide. The shawls are a tangible expression of the care and compassion of the people of this parish. Not only have the recipients of the shawls been touched by this gift, but also the members of this ministry have benefited by the sharing of prayers and love as the shawls are made. To date, the ministry has made and given nearly 100 shawls.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meetings are held in the parish hall on the third Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.  This ministry is open to anyone in the parish, adults and youth, experienced and novice knitters/crocheters alike.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is a journey entered into by two individuals, a trained director and a directee. The goal of spiritual direction is for the director and directee to discern the workings of the Holy Spirit in one’s life through prayer and reflection. The director does not “direct” the directee, in the sense of giving advice or solving problems. The director is trained to actively listen to the directee, and during the spiritual direction journey, directees are encouraged to pay attention to their daily concerns and share those with their director. Every aspect of our daily lives affect our relationship with God. Daily concerns such as family, work, and emotional hurts and fears are shared in spiritual direction and used to bring the directee closer to God.

Confidentiality is an important aspect of the spiritual direction journey. There are no fees associated with this ministry; spiritual direction is an offering of the spirit for the benefit of the directee’s spiritual life. Offerings may be given to St. Andrew’s in order to assist and promote the St. Andrew’s Spiritual Formation Center.

Sunshine Ministry

The Sunshine Ministry is composed of a group of loving cooks who help prepare meals for fellow parishioners in crisis or need. Our mission is to envelop those within our congregation who are experiencing stressful situations with prayers and support, letting them know their church family is present. The members of the Sunshine Ministry are notified when a member in our church family could use prayer and meals delivered. All members are asked to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.  If you are in need of a meal, please contact the church office or the ministry leaders.
